Unfortunately, you'll find that Sex has nothing to do with your X or someone new. It's different for a little while - but becomes familiar very quickly.
The whole thing is about companionship, friends and love. Sex changes as you go through life - eventually it will not be as important as it was when you were young. Other things are more important.

I don't know, I've never been in that situation but could it be because
there are no longer strings attached and therefore the sex is more spontaneous?

Yes, it just seems more "dirty" or fun especially if they are seeing someone else. You kind of have this feeling of "Yeah I knew they still wanted me" and also the thrill of being caught.
