I have spots of road tar on my vehicle, which regular car wash soap does not remove. I have been advised to use Goo Gone or Oops, but I am curious whether or not these products damage the clear coat finish in the process of removing the road tar? Anyone with experience or advice?

I've used them on cars before and found they do no damage to most modern paints. Goo Gone is great for removing sticker residue. But I would wash it off as soon as you're done to be safe.

some thing you note to the face of the sticker that has oil or such in it is going to damage the sticker. do no longer note some thing moist in case you want to maintain the face of the sticker. i ought to note warmth both from an iron (dry warmth) or a blow dryer and then use a razor kind aspect to fastidiously get rid of the sticker. do not get in a hurry, take a even as to maintain from tearing, slicing or otherwise ruining the sticker. If this works effectively you need to prefer to visual reveal unit some clean glue to the again once you get waiting to reapply to get a good stick. i desire this works for you. If no longer you need to attempt to locate a change sticker, if plausible.

Many auto parts stores sell products for that specific purpose; I'd try one of those to ensure that you don't damage your paint.
