I injured my back in a bare back boar riding competition... since then i haven't been able to vaccuum cleanse my house... do u know of any other ways i can sanitize my carpet without using my vaccuum cleanser???

Get a billy goat. The billy goat will eat any remnats on the floor. The fecal matter from the billy goat will also break down any bacterium in your carpit.

Not really. In theory you can sweep a carpet clean, but I'm sure sweeping wouldn't work with a bad back either, and in any case, all that does is pick up a little bit of the surface litter and release a HUGE amount of dust in the air. There is a Bissell sweeper, which is a light sweeper that doesn't raise dust, but does pick up surface stuff. It won't suck up the dirt like a vacuum, but will give you a reasonably tidy carpet until your back gets better and you can haul out the vacuum again.

I can't use a vacuum cleaner (doctor's orders) because of dust allergy, and I've found that a carpet sweeper does a pretty good job - I like the small Hokey brand sweeper better than Bissell or other larger ones. I try to get my hubby to vacuum once in a while, but he hates to do it, so most of the time I just use the Hokey.

You don't have a partner or kids that could help you out? What about asking a member of the family?
Failing that use a rubber broom thats what I use. I hope you feel better soon.

I would have a maid come in, they are not too expensive and they will vacuum and dust for you. I hope you feel better soon.
