i'm 6 weeks pregnant and about ever 2nd or 3rd time i use the bathroom i notice some light pinkish/tan color blood on the tp. It's not enough to show in my underwear just when i wipe about every 2 or 3 hours. i have a good friend who is 8 weeks pregnant and just went to the er last week for about the same thing. She told me not to worry that her dr told her it was common in about 1/3 of all pregnancies. My sister-in-law is 8 1/2 months pregnant and said the same thing happened to her at about 8 weeks. Dr told her to take it easy and everything is fine now. Should I be worried? I can't afford a trip to the ER and with it being a holiday weekend I can't call a dr until tuesday. Like I said it's not much and I'm not cramping. My lower back hurst some but no more than it has been the last several weeks. Any suggestions???

When I was around 5-6 weeks, I had the exact same thing you just described, and I too was worried. I was told it was probably implantation bleeding or could be that I was just one of those women who bleed in the first trimester. Because I had a very early miscarriage my first pregnancy, my doctor did an ultrasound just to check on things. Everything was perfectly normal, and he said that the bleeding was one of the two things that I mentioned above. I have heard since then how normal it is for the spotting that you and I have experienced to occur early in pregnancy. If your bleeding becomes bright red and/or heavy, go the emergency room immediately because that definately isn't normal!!! As long as you are just doing what you described above, that sounds normal to me, but for peace of mind, I would talk to your doctor as soon as possible! I am now 17 weeks pregnant, and everything is fine. Don't worry, and have a happy and healthy 9 months!!! Congratulations!!! :)

I would never take a chance in my pregnancy - no matter how many people tell me that it is normal, unless it's my Doctor. Most OB GYN's have an office line that you can call at any time with questions throughout your pregnancy. You should call you normal office and see if they have put an out-of-office phone number on their answering machine. And don't feel bad calling either - this is the health of your child. You could also try looking it up on WebMD.com.

It does really happen to a lot of people, but you still don't want to take a chance, you know?

Good luck with everything and congratulations on your pregnancy! I hope you find all of the answers you are looking for!
