You are definitely making the right decision not to date him. Continue to tell him that he is too old for you. Also let him know you do not like the fact that he is in a gang. If saying "no" to him causes him to leave, then he was not a very good friend. A friend will respect you and your right to make your own decision. Although you may not see it at the time, him leaving may be a good thing for you. I would hate for you to get mixed-up in that gang lifestyle or become a innocent victim just because you two hang-out. Be careful and continue to stand your ground. You are still young. You will have plenty of men falling for you when you get older.

I have a 14 year old daughter. 14 is to young to have a boyfriend. You should be playing sports, getting good grades, shopping, and hanging out with girl friends. You are to young and he should understand that or he is not a true friend. You should stay away from gangs.

do NOT get into that.

I dated a "bad boy" for awhile.

it's hell. you always worry. you always tend to his bruises and such from fights. he's irritable.

BUT, don't tell him that you're not going out with him because he's in a gang! this might give him incentive to try and leave... and you know as well as i do that guys trying to leave gangs don't usually turn out okay or alive.

Tell him that you don't think it's right for you two to be together when the feeling isn't mutual. Tell him that his friendship means the world to you and you don't know what you'd do if you lost that.

But please, don't get involved romantically with this guy. It's so stressful, and you're so young. NO ONE has the right to rob you of your childhood and your innocence. Even this guy. What happens if he gets killed? He's in a much more risky situation than most guys. Don't get tied up in this.

Be polite, make an effort to stay his friend.

BE TRUE TO YOU. you deserve a childhood, you're only 14. You deserve to go out on dates and share milkshakes with two straws, you deserve to make out in the back of empty movie theatres. Don't tie yourself down, especially to someone who will be high mantenience and always have you worrying.

Be careful, the safest way is to either say you are going out with someone else, I know its a lie but your safety and wellbeing comes first, or say your parents don't allow you to date. I would probably say it's best not to stay friends with him as he is in a gang and you don't want to be dragged into that lifestyle.

If he is really your friend he will truly understand. Try to talk to him about being in the gang and tell him how much you care about your friendship. If he is smart.. he will come to.

Good for you for taking a stand and protecting yourself! Just keep telling him that you are too young and not ready for a relationship or committment. Keep yourself busy with extra curricular stuff so he realizes that mabe you just don't have the time for him.

You have already told him everything you can to politely brush him off. If he isn't hearing it, you are probably gonna have to accept that you can't really have a friendship with this guy.
