Just leave it out in the sun for a day...it will be all but gone!

This smell will never go away much like the rubber/plastic smell you get when entering a less expensive shoe store that sell a lot of non leather shoes. Best advise remove and replace with the carpet type. This smell actually makes some people sick with headaches and naseua.

give it a good scrubbing with plenty of water and detergent ,leave in sun to dry.
