he will be home in a couple of weeks.....we have been trying to have a baby-he left 8/17/06. what is the best way to let him know when he gets home that we are expecting??

why dont you get him a gift. a bib that says i love my daddy or something and wrap it then give it to him when he is back home!

I like the idea of picking out a gift and giving it to him (But make it something that he'll actually be able to use with the baby.). You could also pick up a few books and leave them around the house hoping he'll get the subtle hint and then over dinner or something, give him the good news. If you've both been trying, I'm sure it won't take long for him to figure out with a few hints here and there.

Show up to pick him up in a maternity top.
Make a big sign that says "Daddy is home".
Give him a baby gift all wrapped up in baby shower paper.

Make a "Welcome Home Daddy" sign for him to see when he gets back. Or get a carseat and put it in the backseat of the car and when he gets in the car he'll ask "What's that for?" and you could just say "Well, we're gonna need it in 9 months so I figured I'd go ahead and put one in the car." Anyway, those are just a few ideas...congrats on the little one :-)

I like the idea of having him solve a customized puzzle with a nice pic and or message that you are expecting.

Find him a father's day card. Send it with an ultra sound picture in it. Even if it isn't fathers day. It'll be sweet.
