My favorites are Puffy, Mummy the Peepshow, noodles, Judy and Mary, Pizzicato 5 and Titan Go Kings...but I want to find more good ones.

Sorry I put in Japan section, but nobody in Music section answers Jpop question.

Chara - started as light pop (she cites Madonna as an influence) but evolved into a very unique and original style crossing many genres - very distinctive vocal style
Judy and Mary - also Ramones inspired, but you know
YUKI - the former lead singer of JAM has a solo career now and will be releasing her 4th album in a week or two
Shiina Ringo - alternative or progressive rock? very cool
Puffy - quirky pop stuff, as you know
Go!Go!7188 - punk, rock, surf, ska-riffs, fuzz-guitar (two girls on guitars and a male drummer)
Surf Coasters - surf music, what else! no vocals - these guys put on awesome live shows
Ego-Wrappin' - cabaret, ska, jazz fusion, great vocals
Cibo Matto - very eclectic and funky - but I think the band is now history
Shonen Knife - Ramones wannabes - quirky, candy punk - e.g. one song is called "Every Japanese Owns a Louis Vuitton"
Moritaka Chisato - 90s idol pop, but matured on later albums
Hitomi - idol pop (she is also a model), fun, boppy music
Mr. Children - great classic rock, frequently Pink Floydish, but a little more accessible
Southern All Stars - sort of the Jimmy Buffett of Japan but more outrageous - fun beach music, good romantic ballads - Japanese of all ages LOVE SAS - awesome fun live shows

Shonen Knife is good. Most of their songs are in broken English, but it's still J-pop. I'll have to check out some of those bands you listed.

This is to another ? you answer. I am a great mother to my kids.
They graduated from school. My son even graduated with honors.
If, or when you have kids, you would be happy to see your kids as respectable as mine. I TAUGHT THEM VERY WELL.
