God forbid, dont use laxitives!!! You could have a possible miscarriage....... Get some Prune juice!!! Its loaded with Potassium, which is good for you and the baby, its organic,, and it works very fast!!! Just drink about a 1/2 a glass really quick, and you should be able to relieve yourself A.S.A.P!! And have a banana with it..... A bran muffin, whole grain with honey..... any fruit...... I would eat & drink these foods on a daily basis.... So, you can keep "Regular" and its very Nutritional for you & your baby!!! Be patient, but, please dont take laxitives, please!!! Congratulations, by the way!! On your pregnancy!! Smile!!!

First of all, you should be able to get in touch with someone over the weekend. There is always someone on call for an ob/gyn.
I recommend Karo Syrup. Take a tablespoon of it. I've heard some people say to use the dark, but I used the light and it worked. This isn't an immediate cure, but it will help.
I don't recommend using any other laxative without the express consent of a doctor. Until you can get in touch with them, try a couple of doses of Karo...you might be surprised!
Good luck and best wishes for a healthy pregnancy and baby!

Do not use a laxitive. Your baby needs more water. Constipation is just part of being pregnant. The water you drink helps keep filliing the placenta with clean water. Thats why you need to drink so much. The placenta continuously empties.

Water, water, water!! that is the only thing that will help you in a natural way, water does so much for you and your baby, remember when we are pregnant most of the water we drink goes to the baby so you have to drink extra water so your body absorbs it for you too. My doctor told me not to use any laxatives. I am 17 weeks pregnant and I have not been constipated at all, i say it is because of the 80oz of water i drink a day. My doctor told me that if I came across constipation I should eat prunes, or raisins, they work fast and at the same time you are eating healthy. Good luck, and if i were you i would get busy drinking water right now, do not drink juices or sodas, too much sugar is not good for you, JUST SIMPLE WATER.

No oral laxatives are safe during pregnancy but go to the drug store or wal-mart and pick up a bottle of gylcerine suppositories. They are perfectly safe to use during pregnancy and are recommended by many ob/gyns. Also, be sure to mention the constipation to your gyn at your next appt. and they may be able to change your prenatal vitamins to help you out.

Try adjusting your diet to include more fiber, increase your intake of water and make sure you are getting exercise (walking, swimming, yoga, etc). Getting an hour worth of walking in will help your circulation. Each of these options gives both you and the baby benefits, unlike a laxative.

Get a stool softner, and drink ALOT of water with it, laxatives will make you sick, and can cause dehydration. Call your doctor on Monday. If your having pain though, call the office, they should have a service or an on call doctor.

I was told to drink LOTS of water & I can take a stool softener (like colace) to help. I've been taking 1 a day for most of my pregnancy (constipation can cause hemmorhoids & colo-rectal problems which are not fun). Hope it helps!

Eat lots of fiber, drink lots of water. I think a suppository will be your safest bet. They have glycerin and dulcolax. Either would work.
