do you think it should be a misdomeaner or a criminal felony? I think myself it should be a criminal felony although it depends on the case.

As you say it depends, even as a misdemeanor they should put some "teeth" into the penalties and make them stick more than they do. Cruelty to animals is one of the danger signs for psychologist along with fire-setting, which determines that "problem" children should be more closely monitored for serious behaviour disorders. It indicates something badly wrong in the person in question.

I think it depends on the case, but a lot of times those that are cruel to animals grow up to commit crimes against humans. If someone is charged with cruelty, it should be made impossible for them to ever adopt or purchase any type of animal ever again, and would also be wise to require they get some type of counseling.

I think the person or the people ( the ones that are getting their funky off on it) Should have done to them as they did to the animal. I had a small dog and a cat came up missing, Found out about a block away some kids were skinning animals alive in their basement. They found over a 125 skins of dogs and cats.

animal cruelty happens everyday and it pisses me off everytime I hear of someone hurting an animal. Yes it should be a criminal felony.. good question

Felony. In the past people got away with things because it was just a misdemeanor, and no big deal to them. But I think if the laws were stricter, hopefully , people would stop being so cruel because they would know they would be punished.

How can it "depend of the case?" There is no way that it can be justified!!!
We have evolved from being apes & that is the only animal that we can relate to as far as being one is concerned. Medicine should be testes in a way that would be suitable for humans (an aspirin will kill a goat but it cures our headaches - go figure)!!!!
Who cares what shade of pink suits a rabbit best? There are plenty of companies that don't test on animals so we don't need to use those who still do.
I could go on forever about this subject but I will just end on saying it is SO WRONG!!!!!

criminal felony. i can't imagine a poor little puppy with no home. i would feel sooo bad! i have 2 dogs! and if they were to get lost, i would be posting flyers all over my school and town! i love to cuddle with anything that has fur!

Definitely a criminal felony, the 'people' that are cruel to animals should be punished severely, especially the sick b*****ds who 'sacrificed' that poor dog in Co. Wicklow, burn in hell you sickos!!!
