While it's obviously wrong we have to accept that a vocal minority do have social deficiencies. It may be lack of education, a poor upbringing or just a basic ignorance of life and people but I'm afraid we'll always have them. I agree that where such questions do come up in answers people should ignore them as they are attention seeking from people who may deserve our sympathy but certainly don't deserve our attention.

I am, but I also believe in freedom of speech. Although I don't believe we truly have most of our freedoms due to all the amendments that have been added. Opinions are OK we all have them but I think do to the fact that kids are on this site language and opinions could be stated in a better way sometimes. I skip questions of that nature unless I feel like I need to make a comment because of this. The US is the melting pot of the world we call our self Caucasians-mix of many races. They are full and true races were putting down. One day we will be such a mix people will have to find something else to slander won't they. Well hey they do that to don't they. Live and let live, viva la difference. But your right a little more kindness and tactfulness couldn't hurt.

You're right. There's a line from the movie The Muppets Take Manhattan which goes (with an accent) "Pipples is pipples." That is intended to be a quaint and humorous way of stating a universal truth: we are all human beings and basically all alike. In my observation, cultural differences make us different more than anything else. Once I worked with two other women. We all three liked each other and got along, but I had more in common with the woman whose culture of origin was similar to mine. We understood each other better without having to provide explanations for specific terms. As it happens, I am white and the woman I had more in common with is black. The other woman is white but because of the difference in our cultural backgrounds, we had to make more of an effort to understand each other. To be more specific, the difference was not based on wealth, religion or sexual orientation. The main difference was what part of the US our parents were from, and how we were brought up.
Bottom line -- no general sweeping statement regarding a race of people can be correct. Pipples is pipples.

I'm pretty tired of it, but I still seem to play into it on Yahoo! Answers. When I see a loaded, racist question, I should probably just not ignore it but sometimes the way it's worded makes me have to post a response. I think as soon as the people who post these questions get no responses the questions will go away. Now if only that'd work for racism itself......
