Everyone wants to see fewer abortions, myself included, but I am unalterably pro-choice because:
1. Outlawing a particular behaviour has never caused that behaviour to stop. Look at our insane drug laws. Spectacularly ineffective. Look at how "successful" Prohibition was. If abortion is outlawed, it will only force women into unsafe back-alley abortions, resulting in thousands of mutilated and dead women.
2. Not all people or religions believe that abortion is wrong. If you outlaw abortion, you are forcing your religious beliefs on other people. Seriously bad Karma. If you feel abortion is wrong, don't have one; you're entitled to your opinion. You're NOT entitled to ram that opinion down anyone else's throat.
3. It is absolutely insane to allow strangers with no medical training (politicians, televangelists, the Religious Right, etc.) to make medical decisions for you or your family.
4. Abortion is a decision best made by a woman, her doctor and her conscience. It isn't anyone else's business.

I believe abortion is wrong.
Think about it this way: If you didn't do anything, eventually you would have a baby. All you really have to do is eat well. To say that a pregnancy isn't a "real" baby because it's not in the trimester (I'm not entire sure about the timeline on this, so don't quote me) is just wrong.
Anyone that's pro-choice always says a mother should have a right to choose. And when you think about it ultimately you do have the right to do anything you want with your body. That's called being human. Just because there's a law that says you can't do something (or that it's wrong) doesn't mean that you can't do it. For example raping is against the law, and people do it anyway. Littering is against the law, and how many of you have not littered? I mean really. Even if there is a law that says abortion is illegal, there probably will still be people that get abortions anyway.
I am against abortion, but when it comes down to it you can't really force anyone to follow any rule.
I think a lot of pro-choicers might think that just because someone is pro-life it means that they're against women having a right to choose. It's not about that. It's about the baby that didn't do anything wrong. Regardless of how the pregnancy happened, why should an innocent baby be killed for it. It's like the baby is being punished for the wrongdoings of others. And that is NOT okay. How would you like it if you were punished for someone else's mistake? I know I don't like it very much when that happens to me.
A lot of people will also say about if a child is raped or something, why not try to make it so that rapists are punished more harshly rather than making it okay to get an abortion?
Abortion is not the solution to unwanted or unplanned pregnancies. Everyone should think about how to prevent unwanted pregnancies (maybe use protection or not have sex with a bunch of people just to have fun) instead of just getting an abortion after you do get pregnant.
And why is it that it's always the woman's choice? I mean I'm a woman myself, but why is it never the guy and the girl deciding? Why only the woman (an exception is if the girl is raped) but if both the guy and girl had sex willingly, why shouldn't it be a joint decision on what to do?

I feel that abortion is wrong. If you didn't want to have a child or get pregnant, why did you have sex? Why didn't you use protection?
There are only a couple of reasons that I can see that an abortion should be considered as a LAST POSSIBLE OPTION: if the woman was sexually abused (i.e. raped, molested, incest) or if the life of the mother is in serious jeapordy. Those should be the only circumstances in which an abortion should be considered.
Those women who want to have an abortion just because of "convience" or as an "escape from responsiblity" make me sick. There are plenty of couples that lack the ability to have children or want to adopt a child.
I am from a state in which we passed the strictist anti-abortion law that recently made national headlines. The law basically stated that it is illegal for any person to perform or recieve an abortion within that state. And the penalties for an abortion are very high. I'm proud of that. I feel that people need to start taking responsiblity for their actions. If you are old enough, mature enough, and responsible enough to make the decidsion to have sex, then you are responsible enough to raise that child and accept the concequences of that choice.
I also feel that the father of that child should also have equal rights as well as to whether or not to allow the mother to have an abortion. Again, I feel that abortion is wrong, unethical, and shows a lack of responsiblity unless the pregnacy was caused by sexual abuse or if the life of the mother is put into jeapordy.

As a man, I am not effected by the abortion issue. However, I do believe that, as a man, if I were to get a woman pregnant and she had an abortion, then I had an abortion too. If it were not for me, she would not be in that situation. That's how I am pro-life.
On the other hand, and directed to those ultra-conservative, religious zealots, neo-Pharisees, I do not support, nor believe that abortion bans should apply to incest and rape. These so called men (and Stepford women)who worship their gods believe that a teenage girl should have their father's, uncle's, or cousin's baby let alone a rapist. I guess these religious, godly men with their hair all parted the same way(mostly) believe women being raped by their relatives or some stranger should just lay there and enjoy themselves.
Also, they claim they are protecting the rights of the unborn. What about the rights of the first-born? No,these godly people don't only seek to protect the unborn, they seek to control the thoughts and lives of others.
I'll let GOD decide the abortion issue. I'll let Satan decide the fate of of those who believe that women should enjoy being raped!!!!

Oh well, it is one of the most debatable issues. Personally, I'm against abortion. The idea of taking away one's right to live just sounds horrible, and it's your baby, some part of you. I say I wouldn't do that. But if you're raped or if the pregnancy risks your life nobody has the right to judge you if you want to go for an abortion. I also believe that the abortion process mustn't be that easy.
If you just want to get rid of the baby because you don't want it for no valid reason (life risk, etc.), it's just cruel. One may ask what are the "valid" reasons, who is gonna decide that or how can you decide for someone else when their choice is not to have a baby...I just don't know.
The issue is very complicated. I wouldn't go for it, but also I cannot judge a person who wants to do it. If only everybody used birth control...

My view on abortion is that it is something that just shouldn't occur. The only times that I think it should occur is if the life of the mother is in serious danger, and then I think the choice should be up to the mother. The other time would be if there was a rape involved, and at that point it is a matter of using the "morning after" pill.
Our society and culture is advanced enough and intelligent enough to prevent unwanted births (either through birth control or abstinence).

i say to each his own. i say we should have a choice as to what we want and don't want and not be strapped down by the opinions of fat filthy men getting rich of off the blood of others, fat filthy men who have never personally experienced childbirth themselves. yes, i believe there should be restrictions on abortion since people do abortions for all the wrong reasons, but it should not be totally gone. women should have the right to choose, plus, really, if a woman in a good relationship gets pregnant, what are the chances that she won't keep it? like zilch. prolifers have nothing to worry about at all, the american government and the american public is still very very conservative and have gotten more so.

I think that women should have the right to choose whether or not she has an abortion-Please watch the movie "If these walls could talk" starring Cher, Sissy Spacek, Demi Moore, and jada Pinkett smith-its a great movie that deals with the issue of abortion and touches on both sides of the issue.

My personal view is that is it a personal choice for the woman. There are so many variables involved concerning pregnancy eg conception such as rape, molestation, the mothers circumstances such as health, addiction, mental health, financial status, ability to nuture child. Then there is the child itself, will the baby be loved, nutured and cared for so they can have the best opportunities to develop secure attachment with mother and be provided with the best possible chance to grown into a positive member of society. Too many children are neglected and develop social, emotional and cognitive problems; which in turn may be carried through to adult life where they procreate and the cycle of neglect continues. So if the woman believes she cannot provide adequately for the child emotionally, socially or mentally then abortion may be a kinder fate for the baby than a life of deprivation and neglect.

I am pro-choice which means that I believe a woman has a 1st amendment right to privacy over what happens to her body.
It is that simple.
As far as all the ppl who claim it is murder, etc...
Only God knows exactly when a fertilized embryo becomes a person with a soul; therefore, once again, because on human being can know this, that only supports a woman's right to choose.
Also, the fertilized embryo is a dependent cell. Why is it ok to disconnect ppl everyday in hospitals from life support machines because their lives are dependent on a machine... that is not called murder.
