I had a Lexmark and loved that thing. It came with some very good software.

Yes their ink is expensive. What I ended up doing was getting an ink replacement kit at Target. I used black all the time too and that was the kit I got. The Lexmark was no longer under warranty so I didn't worry about it.

The directions are included with the kit on how to recharge the cartridge. I ended up saving on the 10 to 12 cartridges I didn't have to buy before the cartridge wore out and I had to buy another cartridge. Then I would recharge that one until it wore out. Those kits really work.

Be careful and see if you can read the info on the package before you get a recharge kit though, it has to mention your printer specifically.

Hope this gives you some ideas and helps, good luck.

I had a lexmark 1000, and then a 3200. I found the ink very expensive and dried out fast. I now have a canon i560. It has 4 separate inks, that at retail only are about 17-20 dollars canadian. Plus tax of course. I highly recommend getting a printer that takes the 4 separate inks. This is better than changing a $60 cartridge. The choice is a cheap printer, or cheap ink, or separate ink, or best quality, or any combination. I personally love my canon i560. Excellent quality, and cheap separate ink.

See if you can find the part number of the black ink cartridge and get a remanufactured generic one. I think the 2350 has two cartridges, one black and one color.
