Why do people ask controversial questions aimed solely at angering the people they don't agree with?

Usually whoever asks the question picks the question he/she most agrees with as the "best answer" and I think that's the problem I have with the whole thing. There's no real point to the question, other than finding an answer he/she agrees with.

Some people just like to pick fights and it is easy to do it on here because they actually be physically hurt from it. And they probably just sit back and laugh at responses.

I stop looking at questions like that and let those people be idiots. If people don't respond, then they don't have a forum.
I think it also makes them feel a sense of accomplishment when people report them because of it.

Prodominately to see the diverse reaction they can cause, but really the fault of this is in both the one who asks as well as those who get angery. I myself do not approve of the use of myspace by people who are unwilling to learn the basics of HTML do to the risk they put themselves and everyone else at for third-party viruses (ect.), so I typically steer clear of these questions, or when I do answer I provide them with easy to use tutorials and a breif explanation of the risks.

People need to realize that getting angery at someone across the country or something beyond their control is pointless. If you as a contributor to the Yahoo! Answers section know that a topic i simply going to grind your nerves, stay out of it.
