going by the price of players etc I believe 2 years before the price is fair.

It normally takes about 18months for a price change, new hot products takes 1 1/2 to 2 years to change. But Sony is always so expensive.

these laptops are still very expensive,they should go down in price in the next 2 to 3 years as technology advances

Ifr Blu Ray doesnt win the next generation DVD technology wars then probably very soon (as manufacturers dump their excess stock), if it does then failry soon (say a couple of years)
