-Find out who the best teacher in town might be.. THEN sign up for classes.... That way YOU will learn to dance and not just how to Look like a Dork with a broken leg!! NOTHING IS UGLIER THAN all the just standing and rubbing butts--What is all that about anyway... IS not dancing... You can do that if is what everyone else is doing---BUT, you need to know how to Count beats--and follow the music.. IS SO MUCH FUN!! We have won a ton of titles in 2-step--cha-cha--swing- shag- lots of others..... and is the best fun ever.. You can always do it as a couple if your partner can also dance (TAKE CLASSES) with the same teacher!!!!

Go to some dance clubs and look for possible move you like. You can also watch video's looking for moves.
Go home and practice in front of the mirror until satisfied.

Feel the beat. Practice by closing your eyes and focusing on the music. Pick one aspect of the music such as the drum, the guitar, or the words. Focusing on that one aspect, move your body to that rhythm. From your head to your toes, get your whole body involved. Practice moving your whole body or just parts of your body.

Watch dance music videos (not just the ones where the girls are jiggling their booties). Try to copy some of the movements. Soon you will be moving with ease.

Rent some movies like, Honey, go to the theaters to see Step Up, and Save the Last Dance with Julia Stiles. Rent these or go see them @ the movie theaters, watch how they dance, maybe take physical or mental notes, then try them out.

Watch some other dancers, and then pretend to be in there position! Then when you think you've got it, practice the moves! Don't be too stiff or it'll throw you off!
