:igi"....exactly. Sometimes what is perceived as rudeness is really confusion or fear . The older a person becomes, the more difficult it is to keep up with things. God bless the souls of the elderly...they have my undying devotion.

Every person should be able to think of a way to help an elderly person every day. Just remember, all of us (if we're lucky) will be old some day and need help. A lot of elderly people suffer more from loneliness than anything else. Here's a list of things that elderly people could use help with...can you find one you could do for someone?
bring in their mail
carry their groceries
walk their dog
sweep their porch
send a "thinking of you" card
visit them in their home, hospital, nursing home
Ask if you can run an errand for them
Take them a plate of food
Take them to the store
Go to the store for them
Clean their bathtub
Wash their dishes
Help with the laundry
Put fresh linens on their bed
Vacuum their carpet
Mow their lawn
Rake their leaves
Weed their flower bed
Take them a slice of pie, cake, watermelon
ASK THEM IF THERE'S ANYTHING YOU CAN DO TO HELP THEM
Give them a call to check and make sure they're okay
Take them to visit a loved one's grave
Take them out for coffee

That's just a few ideas..... they have many needs and little help.

Yes working in drive thru makes for a very need to be kind ans patient with people explectally the elderly. Some of them can barely get out thier order or they have trouble counting there change...There is this one elderly fellow that comes and gets the same order every morning and he can be so slow ordering and getting his money to me but he's always so polite about it that I don't mind waiting for him...but there are some that can really irrate me.

Yes, be patient with the elderly. You are going end up like that anyways. How would you like it when you're 80 years old and this brash 20-year old person comes up complaining to you. Remember, the elderly were once like you and you will be one day as they are.

Yes. I believe that the elderly should receive the same amount of respect if not more as opposed to other people.

Sister, I'm not patient with anyone, especially the elderly. I've got places to go, beers to drink and people to take advantage of. You had better not be in front on me in the fast lane or I will run you down.

I consider myself very patient with the elderly. Just as long as they are not in front of me driving 40 mph in a 65mph zone.I have zero tolerance for that.

I try to be, but I can't always do it. There are stupid people in every group, including this one, and I just can't muster alot of patience for stupid people. Also, there are alot of elderly people who are unbearably rude, and think you're just supposed to put up with it because they're old.
