The two main groups requiring circumcision for religious reasons are Jews and Muslims.
There are NO medical benefits from circumcision, and a foreskin is not smelly, does not cause disease, and doesn't lead to cancer. Normal hygiene is required - pull back the foreskin when showering and wash the head of the penis. Make sure you dry under the foreskin too.
The foreskin is a natural protection for the nerve endings on your penis that give you pleasure when you have sex. The foreskin itself is also covered with these nerve endings, which add more pleasure.
When you are circumcised, you loose the nerves in the foreskin, and because the head of the penis is exposed, it develops a protective layer of keratin, which has no nerve endings - the result being that the head of the penis becomes less sensitive.
The American Medical Association and the American Association of Paediatrics both agree this operation is unnecessary for a normal adult male.
America remains the ONLY western country where routine circumcisions are performed.

Circumcission was routinely done years ago, mostly in large cities where the doctors were predominately Jewish. Now doctors have to ask permission before doing it. I feel it is totally unnecessary. If we were born with a foreskin, there is no valid reason other than religious, to have it removed. If they have a bad odor, it's because they don't wash themselves properly. Vaginas can have bad odor also. Good personal hygiene seems to be lacking going by the smells and filth in public restrooms.

Circumcision is a religious symbol in the Jewish faith. I don't believe it is in other religions. I think people do it for cosmetic reasons today and because they think it's cleaner. My own son is not circumsized, and it hasn't been a problem. He doesn't have problems with odor or cleanliness. It's actually not neccesary at all, and in fact, there is more sexual enjoyment if they are not circumsized. I personally don't believe in it, and find it a cruel practice.

Circumcision is required for religious reasons for Jews and (I think) Muslims. It is a sickening and barbaric practice! Men who have it done are mutilated, and they have less sexual pleasure. There is no odor to the intact penis unless the man doesn't wash himself.
It was popular in Victorian times because it was believed that sex was bad and that boys without a foreskin would not mastrubate. It didn't work! But the general anti-sex attitudes prevelant in the 19th and 20th Century made it popular. I am so grateful that my husband's parents left him whole!

In new findings they say that it protects (never and not 100%) against getting infected with the HIV virus.
It is clean but indeed less sensitive.
Some boys are circumcised fully or partly because while they were young the foreskin was to tight.
For religion Jews and Muslims are doing this.

Some religions require it but it really is not necessary. The foreskin is there to protect the head of the penis. Just keep it clean like you would other parts of your body and everything will be ok. Humans are the other animals on the earth that cut off the foreskin of babies. If it wasn't meant to be there, then why were we born with it???

Yes it is necessary. It is just gross if it isn't done. I have only seen an uncircumsized one in books but it is a real turn off to me. Eww
