As you know.. some of the questions on yahoo answers are beyond stupid and even a two-year old wouldn't ask.. on the other hand, for those with serious questions, some will just want to be smart asses.. some answers are colored by their own bad experiences.. some are judgemental.. some are about really trying honestly to help, some answers offer comfort.. it's too broad a spectrum..It's like anything.. we are all different and will approach things in our own way...
Personally.. I answer what I think I can help with because I have experience in it... sometimes I like to play around but for the most part.. I think it's about helping and if in some way I can.. I will...

I hope poeple are open minded enough to consider and evaluate others opinions when it's not what they were hoping to hear. I like to hear from all view points....

I believes that depend upon whether they are:

looking for alternative explanations of the truth
or
looking for something that fits their prejudice.

I answer when the phrasing of the question leads me to believe the former and I skip a question when its phrasing leads me to believe the latter.
