I really want to go. I think Ireland is cool! Can anyone tell me about it? Culture, weather, whatever else you can think of? Thanks in advance!

I did spend some time there 2 years ago *County Cork and Claire mostly*...totally loved it and am going back to London and Ireland just as soon as I can afford it again. The weather was absolutely gorgeous *clear and just a tad cool...London was having a slight heat wave when I was there* And the people......the most warm and friendliest people you would want to meet. The majority of the folks I met in Ireland went out of their way to help me.

I'm originally from Dublin but live in the US. People are very laid back, everything is manana. They don't like loud, brash Americans, so tone it down. Best time to visit is July or August. I wouldn't bother in the autumn or winter as it's miserable then. Here are some of my favorite recommendations:
Dublin: see visitdublin.com (watch out for pickpockets!!!)
Drive up the Dublin Mountains and visit J. Foxes pub (a must!).
Powerscourt, Co. Wicklow (House and waterfall) http://www.powerscourt.ie/
Aughrim, Co. Wicklow
the Rock of Cashel in Cashel, Co. Tipperary
Co. Cork:
Blarney Castle (kiss the Blarney stone and get the gift of the gab) Kinsale,
Bantry, Schull (pronounced skull), Goleen, Durrrus,
Ballyedehob (you must have dinner in Ballydehob in Annie's (028) 37292. You must have advance reservations as place is enormously popular.
Crookhaven, the Goat's Path in Kilrohane has beautiful scenery.

Co. Kerry, drive around the Dingle penninsula/Ring of Kerry. (see http://www.ringofkerrytourism.com/
take a ferry to the Aran Islands

Co. Galway
connemara
Galway City
have lunch at Moran's on the Weir in Kilcolgan. People come from all over the world to try their guinness, oysters & brown bread!

Co. Donegal along the coast
