Light is easy and the bleeding is livable. Pads can handle the job.
Heavy is not going out because you bleed everywhere, always in the bathroom because pads just don't cut it. Don't want to be gross but basically gushing.
Really heavy bleeding is not normal you should see a doctor, it can be a sign of serious health issues, infections, cysts.

The difference is the amount of blood during the period and usually how long it lasts. A heavy period will force you to go through "standard" tampons and pads much much faster.

Besides that, it is possible to get pregnant during your period no matter how heavy it is. Sperm is relatively long lived. Get a pregnancy test or see your ob/gyn.

a light period is dark brown kinda light pink very light bleeding thing that sometimes goes away in about 3 days a heavy period is when its very heavy bleeding where you don't dare to wear any light colors and you have to wear a tampon and a pad LOL!!!!

It depends on how much you're bleeding. If it's light you'll use a thinner pad and smaller tampon. A heavy period you use a thicher pad and bigger tampon.
