You can bring a horse to water but you can't make a horse drink it. In order for counselling to work, both of you have to be sincerely wanting to change things....otherwise it isn't that effective.

The benefit to counseling is that there is a third party involved kinda like a referee that makes sure both sides are able to get their points across and keep the conversations civilized. They also keep you focussed instead of just arguing.

One on one counselling....never done it before so I have no experience to draw from.....good luck!

I communicate over with my psychiatrist about how i'm doing and my medicine. I communicate over with therapist about each and every thing. issues that are bothering me, how my existence is going, what i prefer to do, issues i'm having mutually with relatives, money, any little ingredient. How a lot I hate having what I have, how complicated that is to have this. I call it emotional vomiting, i'm getting each and every thing and some thing out, issues i'm no longer waiting to percentage with the human beings in my existence.

Yes, they absolutely help. That does not mean that the first therapist you meet with will help you, nor does it mean that when you find one you like they will immediately solve your problems.
Find a therapist who is solution oriented......not one who simply listens to you whine for an hour. A good therapist will give you exercises, techniques, homework, suggestions. Their other job is to give you an outsider's perspective that isn't biased. It's hard to see the forest from the trees sometimes.

Sometimes just having a third person's point of view will help u sort out your problems and having your family and friends' ears can be just as good as any therapist's. Ultimately at the end, u end up solving your own problems anyway.

I think they can help, BUT by the time a couple gets to going for pro help, the relationship is often past saving and one or both people don't want to change, to do what it would take to have a healthy relationship. So it's not the counselor's fault.

I think they can if both parties are willing to do the work. You must have a willing mind, be willing to compromise and take responsibility for your action and behavior, no blaming, no staying stuck in the past. Also, the relationship has to be salvageable. Don't wait until there's nothing left to work with.

I believe so...

may not help with fixing the relationship.
may not help with ex cheating,
may not help with any other thing either..

depression only if you go.. ...they don't have YOUR answers tho. They may help YOU find YOUR answers...

I also believe, that if they are not saying things that result in you helping yourself, then find one that does...

Things will improve for you and you be there for this improvement. Time is on the side of this happening, isn't it?
