sounds like it's caked with soap or mineral deposits. open the door and pour some regular white vinegar in there- use a good amount. Leave the door open and let it soak for a few hours, then set it to it's hottest setting and let it run through a cycle empty.

This happend to me. What I did was turn the knob to change the cycles and it will pop open. Sometimes it either gets stuck or we open it too early for the cycle to complete. Turning the dial should release the dispenser door.

It's probably caked with . . . soap. Try sponging the door and its edges with clear, hot (or warm) water. Also run a short, empty dishwasher cycle (do NOT add any soap or spotting agent). Again, use hot water for this.

Use little Liquid hand soap to gease it up evey two or three loads of dishes. Work it through the the area that is sticking it works just like WD-40 would.

It is probably gooey old dried up soap - wash it down with hot water to disolve any residue - you can also try a little spritz of baking oil like PAM so it will be slick enough to release.

About the only thing you can do is to try a lubricant. If that doesn't work, you'll just have to put the detergent inside the dishwasher, because it will probably never work again.

It's one of two things, Make sure the racks are pushed in far enough so the door is not blocked. Get a can of WD-40 and spray the hinges. I would guess something is just blocking it.

Simple. It just needs the highly technical adjustment of an expert.
Go to your toolbox and get a hammer, then hit it. That usually works, if not, then you can't do much harm (unless you hit to hard) and can always revert to washing up in a sink and saving some water.
