Change in color might accompany a concentration that results from loss of part of a solution or mixture, or it might be the result of the excitation of an electron and its subsequent return to base energy level with production of a photon.

Apparent loss of mass might be a phase change, i.e., boiling water loses apparent mass as steam escapes a beaker.

Apparent loss of a substance could be the result of a slightly soluble substance dissolving slightly in a liquid. There would be no loss actually, but it might appear so if one were to mix the two and then filter the insoluble part and re-weigh it.

Both a and b most likely will be the result of a chemical change which results in a chemical change. It is not possible to assess "c" due to a lack of definition of substance.
