parabola, like a smiling curve.
one tip if you do not know or can't remember how a graph look like:
you could always try various values of x into the equation to get or remember the rough idea of the graph.
example:
f(x)=x squared.
say, x=0, thus f(0)=0.
=1, =1.
=-1, =1.
=2, =4.
and so forth.then plot the graph with the x on the x plane, and f(x) on the y plane.
