I would suggest either guppies or mollies. They both require temps in the 74-76 range though and would need a heater. Goldfish can be kept without a heater as they are coldwater fish. All fish need filters in their tanks to clean the water of debris.
The mollies are brackish water fish and need salt (one teaspoon per gallon) to stay healthy. Guppies do better with a little salt (one tablespoon per 5 gallons), but not as much as the mollies.

Gold fish are OK if you have a big tank, but likely are the best starter fish because they create a lot of waste. Platies are great starter fish, they don't create a lot of waste, tend to not get easily stressed as some other fish and are not real picky about the water. Bettas would be great starter fish to long as you don't keep them in a little fish bowl.

Goldfish are NOT good for beginners.
Platys, white cloud mountain minnows, black tetras, australian rainbow fish, phantom tetras, and danios are all pretty good starter fish, just be sure to research each one and make sure you can provide the right size tank for when they are adults.

It depends how big your aquarium and how many do you want to put in this tank. I have a ten gallon with guppies and mollies and platys. the gourami are also good for this tank only males but not males and females the male will kill the famale gourami. you can also have several female betta's.
you will enjoy your aquarium for a long time

Goldfish if you are only wanting to choose from those b/c they are cheap and pretty easy to maintain. But as an owner of 4 beta fish they are cheap also and you don't have to have all that other extra stuff for them like air tanks and a light they breathe reg. air and will come to top of water for it. Also it easy for them to maintain their temp as long as it isn't extremely cold.

Betta fish, they're easy to take care of and they're not as dirty as goldfish. Just remember to only get one at a time because they'll kill each other.

Neon tetras. Get a lot of them, because they swim as a school and are fun to watch. They are so fast, the other fish can't eat them.

African ciclids......but not in the same tanks as the ones you listed (they'd become a quick lunch for ciclids) My favorites are the Oscars, but there are many different ones. Just remember, when doing fish tanks.....the larger the tank, the easier to maintain........Good Luck!
