Well, I just realized that what I'm doing is LIKE being a social climber but i just really do some things that I'm interested in and really not to be in the higher-up group. But one day, I just sort of like "belonged to them".

Yes, being a social climber is considered a repulsive, shameful, and low-class way of leeching. Most people would be horribly ashamed to admit any form of leeching at all.
I believe in earning everything and never taking advantage of people for their money.

It depends on why, and how you do the climbing. If you are selfish and hurting people, it is bad. If you are just doing your thing, or trying to better yourself, and you still have a caring attitude about others, it's great.

It depends, do you hurt people or do anything dishonest/illegal/immoral to achieve your social status? If not, I'd say it is fine...lots of people thrive on being socialites, but so many are corrupt and hurt people. That's the wrong part about it I'd say.

If you're doing what you're doing because you personally love it and it makes you feel fulfilled, then you're fine.

If you're doing it because you want to be in with the "cool kids", then you should re-think what you're doing.

Sounds like you're doing the former, though, so have at it!
