allow current microsoft operating systems are built on nt technology. The origianlly named windows nt went as far as version 4 and was first released in 1993 before being superseded by windows 2000, XP, Server 2000 and Server 2003.

The answer therefore is it may or may not depending on the version you are talking about ie 1993 or 2000. In any case it is old hat and is no longer supported therefore you would be advised to move away from either of these operating systems.
