Does anyone know they are planning to update the pictures of cyprus or if they have already recently updatged it?

Google Earth obtains its imagery from a wide variety of sources. At its lowest resolution, it uses Landsat imagery, a space bourne satellite that has imaged pretty much the whole of the Earth since its launch in 1999. This provides 15 metre resolution data - so each pixel represents 15m by 15m on the ground. They also have an arrangement with Digital Earth, whose QuickBird satellite has a resolution of about 60cm - which looks pretty close to aerial photography. There was a large update of this type of imagery in June (http://www.ogleearth.com/2006/06/google_earth_ge_3.html).
They also use aerial photography, mostly from local suppliers.
So, it will all depend on when/if QuickBird acquires more imagery of Cyprus, or if a local company can sell recent aerial photography to them.

My fathers house is still shown as it was over a year ago, he lives on the outskirts of Sheffield so looks like some areas are not priority.
The house has been extentended and it still shows the old roof.
My house in Middlesbrough cannot be seen at all, just the outline of the road where i live.

yeah i know why is it like that some of the south east of England near my area has been like that for ages
i was told that they take new pictures and send them down once a week
obviously not

dont really no, where i live its not very clear at all, i think its the most popular places that are the most clearer. they really should update it more often
