My guess would be that the birds would die. That is if their not wearing their bullet proof jackets.
Then again, the birds might do some weird matrix move, dodge the bullets and kick it out of the worms....hands?
Wow, it really depends on the bird now that I'm thinking about this, mocking birds are bad ***. But a blue bird would definitely die, BANG!

Birds would fly out of bullet range -- that is, if the worms had some appendage to manipulate and fire them. Birds would eventually get smart enough to wait for the gun to run out of bullets, and THEN they'd eat the worm before it could reload!
