If the monthly rent was £500 then it would be reasnable to expect the Bond on the house to be around that price.

Oh and let me read at the tenancy agreement BEFORE YOU SIGN IT

There are no actual laws about this but typically you will expect to pay equivelant of somewhere between 1 and 1.5 months rent as a security deposit

If you are inquiring as to what amount of security deposit is legal in order to rent, any amount the landlord states.
