The other day I left Tacobell having spent over $14.00. That's more than I've ever spent at any Tacobell before. Does anyone else remember when it used to be cheap? I need a new cheap place to grab a bite.

i agree with you. its not nearly as good and cheap as it once was. the best deal i ever got was when they were trying to promote their new super size drinks (a long time ago) and if you ordered the jumbo drink for 1.29, you got 3 free tacos. thats right, 3 free tacos, im not kidding. and this offer lasted for like a month, i was there like 3 times a day.

Don't know if you have been paying attention but nothing is cheap anymore. In the last two years alone gas has gone up over a dollar. I remember going up in the 80's in Junior High & High School and McDonalds Big Mac's were $1.25 (now over $2.50) I went to Dairy Queen the other night for a Peanut Buster Parfiet. It was $3.24!! I used to get them for .99 cents to $1.25. Life is just getting expensive. But yes I do remember buying Nacho Bell Granda's for half of what they are now. Plus they used to give you more chips and ingredents. They have scaled back to make more profit. No, it is not your imagination. I am curious where you spent $14.00 on Taco Bell though. Guessing Alaska, Hawaii, or New York City. I am a big man over 400lbs and I know even at todays prices I would be stuffing myself. I'll tell you something else. I bet you go back. We as americans always do. We complain about the prices but alway shell out the money. It's that subliminal advertising....LOL

Oh yeah...and they're giving you much less for your money. Especially in the Taco Salad. It's all lettuce with about a tablespoon of meat.
I've been on their website at least 3 times and complained about it. I've never heard anything back from them.

Even McDonald's is more expensive. But since we all don't like to eat the same types of foods all of the time, I'd say take that fourteen bucks and go to a sit down restaurant. It will cost about the same plus tip will put you at twenty bucks or a little over.

Stay out of the fast food restaurants. Think about it: Go to Wal-Mart get the Great Value chicken nuggets as opposed to Wendy's (5 for $1) and you can get as much or little as you like.

But yeah, I remember dang the lines inside and out were packed now I go to a Taco Bell and the whole restaurant is to myself. Most of these restaurants are the worth the value for the money. Just because it's $1 you get almost nothing.

It's still inexpensive compared to other fast food joints.

Sure, the days of the 49 cent taco are over, but they still have plenty of items for under a dollar, although their marketing nowadays leans toward their more "Premium(?)" items like the Grilled Stuffed Burrito.

How did you spend 14 dollars at Taco Bell? Must have been others with you. Could not have spent that much on yourself.

I remember them being a lot more reasonable. Heck, for that money you can get a great taco salad at Steak n Shake... and still have about $8 left over!

Yeah.. those were the days. Now they have stuff like a Cheesy Gordita Crunch which is basically a taco supreme with mexi-ranch and an extra flour tortilla and charge you $3.79 for it! You may as well go to Mickey D's and get a phat double cheeseburger and a fried chickie samich.

Umm...since when has any fast food place been cheap? They've always been expensive-including Taco Bell. Especially when they have those 99 cent menus (when you know that they're actually $1.25 for the food).

Nothing is cheap anymore. Unless you have connections (I guess). LMAO!

I remeber when you could get the "party pac" of tacos either 6 or 12...it was super cheap....

For $14 dollars you could go to Chipolte and get 2 "real" burritos and eat again tomorrow....
