such a great album! But it seems he left that way of making songs.

You can't expect any artist to keep doing the same sorts of music- they would just be boring and people would not bother to listen to it if they knew what it was going to be like. Indeed, I hold the sign of a good artist to be an artist who does take risks and evolve into different types of music as the music world changes. You seem to have fallen into that trap of believing that Morrissey is still the same depressive, moody singer that he was when with the Smiths- he isn't.
As for your statement, I believe Ringleader of the Tormentors is the new Vauxhall And I album. It shows a high level of skill and depth which has never been seen for a long time. He seems much more content, happy even, and the songs are probably the best reflection of his personality and vocal talent.
The moody Mancunian era is over. Get used to it!
I'd also like to add this is also the case with other Manchester bands, notably New Order who have moved from their post-Joy Division depressive mood, to a dance like and much more mainstream sound.

By far my favourite album - even better then The Queen is Dead. 'Now My Heart is Full' is Mozza at his best. I doubt if he'll do anything that good again, but he's rarely far from the mark.

It took me a while to get into Ringleader of the Tormentors, but now I think it's amongst his finest. 'Life is a Pigsty' is such a great track, ans, as ever with Morrissey, some of the B-sides are better than most artists' A sides. 'Ganglord' from the 'Youngest Was the Most Loved' single is fantastic.

Will Richard E. Grant ever make another Withnail and I?

Alas, probably not, so that's just 2 more things in history that are special because they were one-off.

Morrissey doesn't sing, he groans. He should've been drowned at birth. Can't stand that w@nker.
