I myself haven't been to Kenya though loads of my friends have been there and am planning to go there next year. Though the final decision rests with you, i would advice you to book the safari before hand. The reason been that most people think that its cheaper when they are in Kenya even though thats not the case. In Kenya you don't have a wide choice of safari operators as you would when abroad and you won't even be having time to compare the prices since you would also be competing with time. The best option is to contact a couple of travel operators from Katokenya.org and compare their prices, even if you won't book now, you can contact your ideal company while in Kenya. Hope that helps

I have always booked my entire trip before I go, as I've usually traveled with a large group. My trips were booked with the Philadelphia Zoo (see their website.)
However, upon arriving in Nairobi, there are at least 10 to 15 safari companies right there at the airport. Or you could go ahead to the New Stanley hotel in Nairobi, and make your safari arrangements from there.
Go to Kenya, the people are nice, and very helpful with everything. I've considered South Africa and Namibia, but I'm loyal to Kenya, and been there three times.

Its possible to book there,no difference really before or after , And i would say Kenya is better than Tanzania in terms of wildlife,as its the Number one tourist destination in East Africa and is easier to go around as everyone speaks very good english.
