You cannot judge how a team is going to during the regular season by what it does during the pre-season.

Case in point: The 1985 Bears went 15-1 and mauled the Patriots in Super Bowl XX. Many people now consider that team to be the best in the history of the NFL. Know what their record in the pre-season was that year? 1-3.

The pre-season is a time to try new things, test the back-ups and play third and forth stringers to see what kind of adjustments need to be made to the depth chart. It's not a time where wins and losses mean that much.

Sara is correct, pre-season is only for coaches to evaluate the players - see how they react to game time situations (although, it also helps players with timing, reads, adjustments, etc.) and find out what 'packages' work well. Basically it's tryouts.

But, if I were to choose from pre-season performance, I would have to say the Bengals! Outscored opponents 131-54 (33-13 per game), no turnovers by any QB, forced 11 turnovers with a +9 ratio..., they were clicking on all cylinders!

But everyone is 0-0 now...

Pre-Season will never tell the story of the season. Look for the Panthers and Seahawks to be good again, along with the Cowboys and Buccaneer in the NFC. The AFC will be ruled by the Colts, Jags, Pats, and maybe even the Dolphins.
