Do you belong to the Faith-Based Party?

Question

It takes a LOT of faith to be a Republican! (And not the usual kind, either!) In order to be a Republican, you have to believe:

-- That the Muslims "hate us for our freedom!", rather than our policies in their part of the world.

-- That giving the Muslim world more reason to despise us makes us safer.

-- That the Iraq War has anything to do with the War on Terror.

-- That huge deficits are good for the economy.

-- That homosexuality is a choice.

-- That the Founding Fathers were Fundamentalists.

-- That Democrats hate America and spend every waking moment plotting to destroy it.

-- That Bush is doing a good job.

It takes a lot of energy to maintain such odd beliefs. It would be easier to deal with reality. But apparently that's the last thing they're interested in. Reality is, their policies are disastrous. That only makes sense-- what good can come from delusional beleifs?

The only one of those I wish you would change a little.. is that the Iraq War/War on Terror actually diminished amounts of terrorists.

How can one be so ignorant to think there's less terrorists now than when Bush entered office. I mean... if you topple a country in the middle east surrounded by terrorists regimes... of course they'll enter the country. Al Quaeda (sp) has a whole section of itself devoted to Iraq.

That's why I'm not a Republican. Now, if only the Democratic party could come up with a stronger platform than "we're not the Republicans". That's good enough for me, but not quite good enough to attract a solid majority.

Yes I am a Democrat and our party has a strong Faith that the republicans will soon be roadkill.
