for some reason i'm on the this english subtitle kick. most dvd's have that feature. i guess i really don't have to focus to hard to listen to every word when i can read it right below. kinda weird. since i have a ghetto dvd player it starts over everytime you stop a movie. one reason a vhs is cool is stopping and starting right where you left off.

It's a tie.
All of the best old movies are on VHS, so you can't ban it completely. I also love being able to fast forward and rewind so easily, and doesn't it seem there's less buttons on the VCRs?
But DVD's are great because you can skip past the previews in a second, and you don't have to rewind! I really hate rewinding.

desire you had informed us why. i can save 1000's of dvds in a plenty smaller place than vhs and function had a great number of vhs tapes eaten up by the vcr machines by the years. no longer a count of high quality that i can tell. optimistically, the blue ray format would be bigger high quality. vhs?

I prefer DVD. Much better picture quality and get all those little extras. Now there are High Definition DVD's which are even better still.
