Unless your parents are total idiots, they are going to know what happened. Cigarette burns don't look like anything else. Anyone who has seen one, knows what they look like. Why are you even thinking about being dishonest? That is a bad habit to start. Then again, so is smoking. Smoking kills people. Not every one who smokes, but too many. It also stinks, and that is 100% of the time, not just occasionally. What's the advantage of it though?

this is going to sound weird but i have done it a many times.take a wet rag and lay it on the area and then take an iron and just about iron that rag dry over that spot. take a heavy needle and poke holes into the burn area with the needle. then take and wet the rag again and iron over the burn. this makes the wood swell in that burn area. then you just take a fine sand paper and sand it lightly.

it depends how deep the burn is,and how dark both the table and the burn are.Deep burn...you'll have to use sand paper. Not so deep....peanut butter may work.

Sand it, then find a stain that matches your table and stain it.
