I haven't heard of the calcium thing but you need it for you bones anyway. Lots of water will make you feel full helping you with your weight loss. If you exercise while you diet you should not have flabby skin. 40 pounds will not leave you with that much anyway. I gained 68 pounds with my first and the only flabby skin I have is around my tummy. Perhaps you should change your goal to 40 pounds in 6 months. Your body won't go into starvation mode and you will lose constantly and slower, giving your skin time to adjust to it's new shape. Do aerobic exercises and work out with weights. Weights will tighten your muscles and help your body hold any excess skin taut. Stay with your resolve and you will be looking like you want in no time. Good luck!

In order not to get saggy, you need to lose it right and that is with proper nutrition and exercise. Hydrate all day, that means you carry a bottle of water around and drink, that keeps the skin elastic. Exercise by walking daily, at least 20 minutes, and increase it. If you can, join a gym and use the machines and take the classes. Eat healthy; no fat, lots of veggies, good lean meats, no fried foods or soda (soda keep fat cells in the body).
If you keep a good regime, you will begin to lose the weight and inches, but it is always best to do it slowly, giving the skin time to adjust to the loss of body fat. Use a good lotion daily, twice a day, all over, that hydrates the skin too.

At 38 the truth is that your skin is not as elastic as it was. Lose the 40 pounds slowly to give your skin time to slowly adjust. Allow time after the weight loss for your skin to tighten as much as it can. Healthy diet, vitamins, water, massaging your skin to improve circulation and exercise will all help. Even if your skin sags a little you will look better thin so don't let that discourage you. Plus if you lose the weight and don't like the way it looks you can always put it back on but I doubt you'll want to. Good luck.

You need to lose the weight slowly so your skin can adapt to the change. Forty pounds in three months is way to fast. Even so, you could have some sag. After pregnancy no one's body is the same it seems.
