Do you know why that is? The oil companies were nationalized so became the property of the state. The oil companies that did all the work lost one hell of a lot. Gasoline costs more than that to produce oven there. Sell a lot of oil to other nations at high prices and subsidies the fuel at home. I am not saying this is bad or good just saying that it is. Might be a good place to go after retiring because a few dollars would go a long way there. That is partly why I am here in Asia.

Yes.....and the average person in Venezuela can afford to buy 2 gallons of gas a month if he does without a few luxuries like food, clothing and shelter.

It's ALWAYS been priced way below market in Venezuela as well as in the other third-world oil-producing and refining countries.
More to the point: since the Vennies own Citgo and Citgo has thousands of gasoline stations in the U.S., why do WE have to pay market prices for gasoline when we go to Citgo stations?
We are being discriminated against - it's just not FAIR!!

They are led by a marxist socialist who uses the state run oil company to provide an opiate for his masses... low gas prices.
He's routing the countries wealth to keep the masses happy. They'll be poor and bankrupt for decades after his dictatorship comes to an end.

That's because the cost of living is so low. Gasoline doesn't have to be so expensive, it's just that the oil tycoons are money hungry anti-christs.
