A tattoo by itself can't hurt the baby. Does it hurt the baby if you cut your finger? Same principle. However, an infection will hurt the baby, as pointed out. You can sometimes get an infection from a tattoo even if you go to a clean and reputable tattoo parlor for the simple fact that the tattoo is still an open wound when you leave the parlor, and you can get an infection from just about anywhere. So to be safe...wait until you've had the child.

I had to wait you can get a blood infection that hurt the baby but the tattoo its self wont. Almost any tattoo place you go to they will not tattoo on a pregnant lady. Best of Luck

I've never heard of a tattoo hurting a baby, but it's not impossible so if I were you I'd wait until you've had the baby to get the tattoo (in fact, if I were you I wouldn't get a tattoo at all, but whatever).

Most tattoo artists will not do it. I tried when I was prego with number 2 and they will not do it because if u get infected it can hurt the baby plus other stuff cant remember them all right now. Wait til you have the baby. It's safer then

Getting a tattoo doesn't hurt that baby, but getting an infection from getting a tattoo can, so you have to be careful that you get a tattoo from a reputable, clean, sterile tattoo parlor, someone who uses acceptible hygenic practices. Best advice, just to be safe, is to wait.

Honestly, I would wait until after I delivered if I really wanted a tatoo. Just because there are the risks of something going wrong that will effect your baby if it happens: like catching a blood transmitted disease, like hepatitis, losing too much blood if somehting happened to go wrong during the process, etc. Your main concern right now should be the health of your child until that child is delivered. So be safe, think things through and make the decision YOU are comfortable with. . .only you can ultimately decide what that is. . .by my advice would be too wait.

If you are pregnant, it's probably wise to wait to get a tattoo until after you give birth. Probably nothing will go wrong but why tempt fate.

My brother-in-law does tattoos and right on the ink bottles it suggests not to perform a tattoo on a pregnant women. And it doesn't matter where you put it they still say not to. Although he did do one on my sister while she was pregnant and it had no side effects doesn't mean anyone should do so. If you have further questions about it ask your doctor.

Come on wait till your precious baby is born, we have to sacrifice things when we are pregnant like eating & drinking right, getting the right amount of rest & exercise, 1 more sacrifice won't hurt. Good luck with your pregnacy!

Yes it could. If your tattoo got infected that would harm the baby... wait until the baby is born...
