Congratulations!
The first thing you want to do is to make an appointment with an OB or midwife as soon as possible.
Get as much rest as you can (the first trimesters has always been most tiring for me).
You might get ravenously hungry. That's ok, your body is spending a lot of energy nurturing that little bundle. Try to keep healthy snacks and foods on hand so that when you need to feed, you can do it in a healthy way and not take in too much junk.
Try not to stress about too much. I know it's an easy thing to say, but not such an easy thing to do. Try to be like a duck... yes, I said duck! Just let things roll off of you like water off a duck!
As long as you can do your job, you shouldn't have any problems. If it were me, I probably wouldn't tell them about the pregnancy just yet. You won't start showing for a few months now, and since it's an office job it really shouldn't affect your work too much.
Your last question has been asked by pregnanct ladies for ages. I hate to say it, but there's really no way to make absolutely sure that you will have a healthy pregnancy with no complications. All you can do is all you can do and hope for the best. Take your prenatals, keep your doctor visits, learn all you can about pregnancy (how your baby is growing and all about the labor and delivery process), pay attention to your body and what it's telling you... do your best, it's really all you can do.
Good luck!

Congrats!!! You should call your OBGYN. They will probably set up an appointment for next month. Start a prenatal vitamin, and all the obvious no smoking, no drinking, etc... If you have a normal pregnancy you should be able to work right up to the end of your pregnancy. YOu may get too uncomfortable the last month though. Good luck!

First off...call your doctor or go to your local health dept. They will give you another test just for their records and then give you prenatal vitamins.I called planned parenthood and I go and get a sonogram in 2 weeks.I will be 6 weeks tomorrow.Start taking a chewable vitamin now with 400mcg of Folic Acid in it because the baby really needs it right now.Drop all that caffeine(that means chocolate).GEt a list of foods to stay away from and try not to stress over anything.I tried for a long time to and I was thinking something was wrong with us as well.Congratulations!

First, you need to schedule an appointment with your doctor. He will confirm your pregnancy with a blood test. He will explain to you what will happen for the next 9 months, usually they give you a month to month guide for you and your husband, it is usually very detailed and informative.
In regards to your new job, I think you should wait at least until you are in your fourth month to notify your supervisor, also talk to human resources, to ask if you are eligible for medical insurance, etc.
Also I recommend you read parenting magazines, like "Child" and "Parenting".
Congratulations! and Good Wishes to you and your husband.
A child is a blessing from God.

*smiles* congradulations!
You should be able to continue work as planned (as long as it is not heavy labor) until a month before your due date. I would start checking out OBGYN Doctors and seeing who you are most comfortable with. Set up an appointment and they will be able to assist you to the fullest and answer any questions you have in an easy to understand mannor. once again! Congradulations!
also check out www.parenthood.com they have tons of tips for new mommies!
