Jim Leyland is NOT a strong candidate for AL Manager of the Year.
He's the only candidate.
Of course Leyland should win. The vote should be unanimous.

Jim Leyland has performed an excellent job with the Tigers. whilst the season began, they have been one hundred-a million photos at prevailing the worldwide series. Leyland has taken this bunch and grew to become them right into a team of fellows who like to play the game and who've overwhelmed up on the weaker communities interior the AL. the different contenders, Toree and Francona (no guy might desire to be supervisor of the 365 days with a a hundred and twenty million dollar+ payroll) Ozzie Guillen (already gained a worldwide series and sticks his foot in his mouth), and Gardnehire (perennial MOY Candiddate). My vote is going to the chief with the group that got here out of no the place, Leyland

Yeah he is.
In years past, when the tigers started out 4-1 and then ended with a losing season, there was a pt in the season where a slump began and the losing image was brought back.
This year, the tigers have rebounded well from slumps and seem to always display confidence, no matter the score. Leyland's players respect him and want to work for him.
An instance was when the tigers beat the angels yesterday after struggling with the yankees. they should take 2/3 from this series and start preparing for the postseason.
Georgie, have u seen miller's stuff? 1 inning and he's blown my mind already.
NO DOUBT the tigers will roll into the postseason. leyland will have them prepared in the playoffs.

The most testing month for a manager and his team is just ahead so it impossible to say. Say last year had the Indians had swept the white sox in their final series and won the divison...Eric Wedge would have been the manager of the year and not Ozzie Guillen who had been the best manager for the entire season. And its not impossible that the tigers dont even make the playoffs (would he win then?).

Absolutely!! He took a last place team and turned them into a winner. AND the Tigers WILL make the playoffs as the winner of the AL Central Division. You can count on it!!
Chow!!

Yes to take a team that has been in the doldrums for the past decade plus definitely deserves manager of the year.

Yes, without a doubt. Leyland certainly deserves it.
But the Mets manager could win it.

Pretty much, I don't think anyone else really made an impact as big as that this year.
And I like the arguing in between God Bless America, what a show

As a Yankee fan, I hate to admit it, but he should win it. They have the best record in baseball, who woulda thought that? But don't get too happy, the team with the best record usually ends up falling in hte playoffs.

I don't care about Leyland, but Bobby Cox should be manager of the decade.
