I am curious to know who out there can tell me how can the system prosecute someone for sexual behavior? Its all over the internet and it is very disgusting some of the things that I see. Is this normal or do they not know. How can it seems to be legal one area per se and not in other issues of life? These types of web sites are bad for the young generation. Do anybody out there agree?

Just so you know, anyone who looks up child pornography will be prosecuted. They monitor things like that all the time. They also set people up to talk to men over the Internet to see if they will lure young girls to go meet them. That's how they get busted, too. So, the police and FBI are using the Internet to their advantage as well.
I agree with you. It's disgusting and wrong. I think the Internet is only for children if it's used as a learning tool. I have 3 young boys and I will be keeping track of everything they do on the computer when they are older! If adults want to look up porn (adult porn), what ever, that's their business. But, I think any parent should be keeping track of what their children are doing on the computer. Most kids are trying to look up things they shouldn't be or trying to talk to someone they don't need to!!

I agree with you: it's not good for youngsters to have this kind of nasty stuff available on the web! I am due to have my first little one in December and definately am not going to have a tv or computer available to them until they're at least 10! Kids are so impressionable. Unfortunately, the web is exactly where people can easily access porn and other gross stuff. People these days are obsessed with sex, it seems. It's too bad: there's so much else to life!

The big problem is that the Internet or World Wide Web is not local. It is literally world-wide. The local laws do apply. They are currently not very enforceable. How do you let another country interact with us on our terms through this media? These sites are bad. They are illegal in most cases. It is just not easy to enforce.
Another problem is the difference between local, state, and federal laws. A couple in one state are OK. In another state the same couple are criminals. They probably don't even know it. A wife charged her husband with rape in one state. It was found during trial that the charge was false. He still went to jail because some of the acts to which they consented were illegal in that state. His only solace was that she too went to jail for bringing false charges and lying in court. Neither knew their consensual acts were illegal.

Some sites ask if you are old enough access them. Kids do not need to see some of the porn on the net. Some have no idea about any of it and to throw this stuff at them can mess them up.
Parents need to monitor on line activity with knids. I do.
