The only trickle down system I know that works is when the boss has the top outhouse on a two stroy unit.

In what way has trickle down economics been discredited? You mean because the people at the bottom of the economic ladder are always going to feel trod upon, no matter that they have a better life than the average person did years ago? Is that what you mean? A rising tide may raise all boats, sure enough, but too many people are more focused on the relative positions of those boats to one another, not to the bottom of the sea.

In America, most people who call themselves poor have a better life than the average person in some "third world" countries. And what can you call that if not trickling down prosperity?

The single best concept for understanding just how crazy and harmful the American economy is for working- and middle-class people is "economic inequality." This is a measurable, quantitative parameter; and for the US it has been increasing for some time. This means the rich are getting richer and everyone else is getting poorer in terms of income and wealth. We are close to economic class warfare. For all the implications of economic inequality read this great new book: "Delusional Democracy - Fixing the Republic Without Overthrowing the Government," and also recent articles by Joel S. Hirschhorn. By the way the reason why so many poor Mexicans are illegally entering the US is because the level of economic inequality in Mexico is off the charts!

Its true, the taxes breaks for the rich don't ever trickle down, they go in there pockets.Always have. But calling 90% of the population dumb, isn't going to help them see and understand. Why don't you show us HOW it has been discredited, and offer up some good point to discuss, instead of buying into the divide and conquer strategy of the republicans?

A federal required minimum wage increase has been discredited. How dumb are the middle class Dems that still support this idea?

You must not work, or you would know that it does work.
It was the Democrats' "Suck-Up Economics" that has been descredited.
