Driver throws a party and then decides that more alcohol is needed. He leaves with two other minors and a 21 year old friend. The driver is 18, the other passengers are 16, 17 and 21. On the return trip the driver crashes the car and kills himself the 16 year old and injures the other two passengers. I don't believe the 21 year old supplied the original alcohol, but may have bought additional that was in the trunk of the car at the time of the accident. What are the ramifications of the 21 year old now that two minors have been killed????

If the driver had alcohol in his system and they can prove the 21 year old bought alcohol (witnesses, video surveillance, receipts.etc) they may have a case. But if the driver threw the party, where was it? Parents house? They could find a way to hold parents responsible.
If you are of age, throw a party, serve alcohol and someone gets killed after they leave your party, YOU can be held responsible. If a bartender serves someone alcohol and they get killed after leaving bar or restaurant, the bartender and the establishment can be held responsible. It's happened a couple of times in my state.

I dont know for sure, but I would say the 21 year old will be held responsible and the person that was throwing the party. If someone leaves your house and you provided the alcohol, then the person giving the party is responsible for those people. Also if the 21 yr old bought the liquer at the store, Im guessing they could be charged with providing alcohol to underage minors.

Any traffic accident, the person who incharge (example: the driver) will be held responsible. He have to ensure his own safety and third parties (such as other road users, pedestian, passengers and etc). Who supplied the alcohol is not the issue.

Solid evidence has to be provided that the 21 year old is the one who bought the alcohol. Also, the person who has title to the car might be responsible, unless he is dead. And believe it or not, the person who threw the party possibly can be sued under their homeowner's insurance.

It is my (unqualified) belief that the 21 year old is SKROOD, big time.
