He's giving his body exercise and giving his mind a break. Or maybe while his hands are raking, his mind is working on the concepts that earned him the prize. He's enjoying his kids, and showing them in a concrete way that they have just as much value as he does. He's showing me that he's still enough of a person, paying enough attention to life's important matters, that his family hasn't dumped him. Sounds like a pretty nice scene to me.
