Hunting helps keep the population in check. Which is why the state requires you to buy a LICENSE. Would you rather see a deer....die quickly from a gunshot wound....or die an agonizing death of starvation and disease? You tell me.....which seems more humane.
Oh...and yea....it is fun.

I have been hunting most of my life. When I was in High School we used to get days off from school when deer season rolled around. The days of the great white hunter shooting for "sport" are long gone pal. All the guys I know and hunt with we are hunting to fill the freezer with meat for our families and ourselves. We do not waste any of the deer, the bones and other stuff we don't eat are ground up and used for fertilizer. Hunting may be wrong for you but for me it 's a right and a privilege that I enjoy every year. Try stalking a deer with a bow in November trying to get close enough to it for a shot that is clean and will kill quickly.. it IS a sport pal. You really shouldn't comment on anything you know nothing about...

I have never met a hunter who just hunted for "fun". They use their meat to feed their families. What do you think the Indians did? They were not vegetarians!
Hunting can be fun, if done for the right reasons. I know there are people who just go out and shoot and leave the animal. That is illegal poaching. People who kill to just get a trophy are doing it illegally. There are laws to follow when hunting.
Hunting helps control the game population.
And another thing, without sportsman and hunters revenue which comes from hunting license, ammunition, guns, archery equipment, etc.... to pay game wardens and wildlife officers salaries so that they are there to help prevent poaching there would be no wildlife left. Poachers would go unchecked and wipe out all game species just like they did at the turn of the 20th Century.

How else are you going to control the deer population? Hit them with your car? I got an 8 point buck a few years ago with my high power 3 cylinder Geo metro. My husband has been trying to get a deer with a bow for years and hasn't got one yet. I hate deer. Wait until you hit one with your car.

It's not what I consider "sport". If they really need it for food and give the animal a fair chance and a clean, painless death, it's not too bad, I suppose. I should add that I'm a vegetarian.

hunting is a primal celebration of the human species. if our ancestors didn't hunt, chances are you wouldn't be here. the predator/prey relationship exists throughout nature. and it's not like a Disney film. animals eat each other alive.

I agree with you up to the point about shooting their kids. That of course is wrong.

I don't like it when people hunt. I don't think I would bring there children into it though. My dad is a huge hunter. I hate it and never eat the animals they kill. Some amimals I don't mind them killing like coties that kill our house pets.
