you see mitosis is the stage after the G2 phase and before the G1 phase of cell cycle. it is divided into prophase, interphase metaphase, anaphase and telophase. the diagrams are quite simple.

in prophase the nuclear membrane disappears and the chromosomes become thick and differentiated.

in interphase the DNA replicates

in metaphase the chromosomes lie on the spindle apparatus

in anaphase the chromosomes come to lie in the equitorial plane

in telophase there is reappearence of the nuclear membrane and cytokinesis takes place.

if you still have trouble you can find its pics from maybe yahoo or google pictures.
