Yeah you still have a period, there is just never an egg released. You still produce estrogen and eventually you will go through menapause just as normal.

Its usually a pretty quick procedure, just an over night stay to monitor infection.

Its much easier, less risky and cheaper for him to have his tubes tied. something to consider.

You still have a period. The egg just can't get from the tube to the uterus and the sperm therefore can't meet the egg.

My advice is to keep some cold packs in the freezer and get ready to lay them on your lower half. You will also be able to do nothing but nurse for about 10 to 12 days, so be sure to have a lot of help at home.

Many women have it done right after childbirth, but it is very painful and major surgery. You might want to wait and make sure nothing is wrong with your son after the birth first.

Just out of curiosity, why have a tubal which is so much more expensive, invasive and dangerous? Did your husband consider a vasectomy which is a lot less complicated, less painful and less dangerous?

I mean, after the pain of childbirth, should you really be the one to have major surgery when he can have a minor procedure?

They can do it as soon after your baby is born or have you wait six weeks. Its really not a big deal, pain wise. Its quick and simple because they have a lot of new technology now as it is done more and more these days. You will have pain for a few days to weeks after the surgery is done, which I've heard. You will be on strict activity rest and will not even be allowed to do anything like vacuum walk up steps or pick anything up bigger then a gallon of milk.
Periods vary depending on the cycle and flow of different women. You will still have your period. However I've heard from family and friends that they have more cramps and bleed more. While some other women tell me they have noticed no change in their cycles and flow. Good luck. Congrats on the boy.

You will still get your period like normal. After seven yrs you may want to get them checked because they can find a way to fix themselves. A woman I know got pregnant 8yrs after having tubes tied.

I think you should ask for the procedure in which you can have your tubes untied in case you change your mind and want more children in the future. Good luck and don't be afraid to ask your obgyn any questions or tell him or her your concerns.

Yes, you still have a period. They are more painful and generally you will get ovarian cyst. If you can talk him into it, men have much less problems when getting snipped.

I'd get him to have a vasectomy done instead, way easier. Quicker recovery, much less invasive, and far less chance of complications.
